Both Diablo 3 and GW2 have the potential to be awesome games. I think I will be playing either at any given time.

Basing on the few failures from A.Net and non-stop successes coming from Blizzard, the answer is obvious.

Plus I love the new Barbarian already, while I don't know ANYTHING about gw2. If I want to play a wow-clone, I'd play wow. Rly.

Guild wars has been frigging ruined! at least diablo didnt nerf the drops, add chests where you have to buy keys and most of the time got useless crap

I used to LOVE guild wars, but now it;s LAME

I hope to play D3 in 2008!

GW2 ofcourse, i don't like dungeon crawlers where you can't even move the camera up to see the sky. Dull. Overhyped and recycled game in my opinion.

Probably D3 since AN is catering more and more to casual and bad players.

Imo d3 = 2010. Knowing Blizzard's sense of humor, they will release it the same day they released D2, only 10 years later.

Blizzard does not give release dates unless you count "When it's done it's done." to be a valid release date.

I have to say I expected more from Diablo 3 ... well the graphics atleast.
And just like Anarkii said ... it didin't look as dark as Diablo 2 f.ex or even as nasty ... maybe it's only those specific areas but if not it sure will take away allot of it's charm. ( on a side note the witch doctor looks fun XD)

These kind of showings aren't very final, I'd expect the lighting/some graphics to get tweaked before release if not changed dramatically. Blizzard has gotten a lot of feedback of the sort in Anarkii's post and I seriously doubt they would ignore it entirely.

Then again, we haven't seen much of the game. I'm certainly excited to see whatever else Blizzard shows us next.

Well, remember that Blizzard is like a master of community relationships. Oh, and they never, EVER released a game with bugs, uncompleted, unoptimized or short. That's why the release date is always ,,when it's done''.

Thank God it's not like with Duke Nukem Forever.

Well I really hope so But putting graphics asides, the gameplay itself seems like it could definately be more fun
The mobs seemed as cool as previously aswell.
Animations looked smooth but the sound of when you land hit's etc could use a bit more "OOMPF" XD ...( does that make any sense ? :P)
ohhh yeah and adding the 2 genders for each profession was a good idea aswell.

Here is the deal breaker for me... will you be able to put stupid, modern, trendy eyewear on your characters like GW?

Because if you can, it can rot in hell.

I say it will be out in 2008 or 2009 at the latest

D3 will SMASH all sold records for a PC game

my guess: 50 million copies sold within 48 hours worldwide

the classics never die and D3 will not only OWN all games till GW 2 comes out, but it will also become a classic

diablo was my first and still is one of the most fav RPG type games of my time

guild wars was number one,, till the nerfs and crap

now id say it;s like this

D3
GW2
GW
Diablo LOD
Diablo II
Diablo
neverwinter nights and all exps

I'm surprised with the amount of people who have said this. Diablo 3 is an action roleplaying game, Guild Wars 2 is a MMORPG. Both of them are most likely going to be released at different dates (if I had to guess, different years).

Assuming Guild Wars 2 comes out months before Diablo 3, you can't say you're not buying Guild Wars 2, an MMORPG, because Diablo 3, an action roleplaying game, is coming out in a few months. Diablo 3 shouldn't influence you buying or not buying Guild Wars 2. Same if Diablo 3 comes out before Guild Wars 2.
